Description of Project
In this project we tested the homeostasis of breathing in which we designated two test persons who ran 200 meters in 60 seconds. Before and after the run we tested their breathing every 30 seconds to find their breathing rates per minute. We recorded the time it took for the breathing to reach homeostasis in the body. My group and I found that on average it took 3 min and 30 seconds for the breathing rate our test persons to return to their standard rate of breathing after a strenuous physical activity.
Below you can see our lab write up and presentation that displays our data in writing, table, and graph form. You can also see the concepts that my group and I learned in this lab.

Content
Homeostasis: The balance in the body that regulates bodily functions which range from body temperature to glucose levels. We tested this in our lab by seeing the time it took for the breathing rates to return to normal after a minute of strenuous activity.
Exhale: The process of breathing out where the lungs contract and push the carbon dioxide out of the body. My group and I saw this process sped up after running
Inhale: The process of breathing in. The lungs expand and take in oxygen that flows throughout the body. As our test person became more tired he took more inhales to get oxygen to his muscles.

Reflection
There were many experiences both positive and negative that I experienced throughout this project. One positive that happened was the free choice to choose the lab that we would conduct to find our data. This allowed to think creatively on what would give us the most accurate data and this way of thinking is more realistic and more used in the real world. Another positive was the time management used my group and I in this project. We all stayed focused and divided the work well which lead to fast and good work.
We also had two negatives. One of which was our error which was mistiming the time of running. Since we are humans there will be some error in timing so one of our test persons could have run longer than the other which could have affected our results. The other negative was our understanding of the lab write up. At first we did not understand our task which prevented us from writing the formal lab write up correctly. These two thing we will learn from and improve upon to become better students in the future.
