Cheese Lab Write Up
Content
We tested to see if all of these macro- molecules were in our cheese by using an indicator to show if our tests were positive or negative. You can see my results of the tests in the writing above.
Macro-molecule: A molecule containing a very large number of atoms, such as a protein, nucleic acid, or synthetic polymer.
Proteins: Any of a class of nitrogenous organic compounds that consist of large molecules composed of one or more long chains of amino acids.
Lipids: Any of a class of organic compounds that are fatty acids or their derivatives and are insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents.
Monosaccharides: Any of the class of sugars (e.g., glucose) that cannot be hydrolyzed to give a simpler sugar.
Polysaccharides: A carbohydrate (e.g., starch, cellulose, or glycogen) whose molecules consist of a number of sugar molecules bonded together.

Reflection
During this project we learned many thing about cheese and especially what is in it. Two positives that I took away from this project were learning about macro-molecules and the different types there are, another is finding out how how to use indicators to show what molecules are in food in this case cheese. This can help my in future science projects by furthering my understanding of science concepts.
There were also negatives in this project I can learn from. One negative would be my understanding of the procedure. This flaw showed the importance of reading and fully understanding the procedure for an accurate and precise experiment. Another negative that I can take away from this lab was my time which affected the time I completed my final lab report. If I was focused the whole time I would have been able to finish my project on time and not had to rush to turn it in. These two negatives from this project can positively affect my learning experience if I learn from them and improve off of them.
